Welcome to our (two) tenths of an acre! My husband and I have been married for three years now, but we knew from the beginning that we wanted to become as self-sufficient as possible. We both wanted to work up to our dream homestead, and eventually we will get there. For now we live in a little house in the northwest, USA. We bought our little place in 2023, and since then we have worked hard to build it into a little urban homestead.
We have learned a lot, and we want to help others do the same. There’s a homesteading revolution happening, after all! We are thrilled to see that we aren’t alone in wanting to grow our own food, increase self confidence in our independence, and reduce living costs.
Our own journey is still ongoing. There are many wonderful blogs out there by established and experienced homesteaders. If you’re here, you’ve probably run across a few of them. This is not one of those blogs; we aren’t fifth generation homesteaders, haven’t been doing this since we were kids, and haven’t been doing this for ten or more years. I’d still call us newbies, and we have a ton to learn! This blog will document our honest learning experiences and steps we are taking to reach our self-sufficiency goals. We home you join us!
